Hey Church Family,
Here we are, a day after the third Sunday of Advent and in one week, we will be remembering the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day! It is a time for food, fun, family and fellowship true, but it is also a good time to have meaningful conversations with those whom we love and will be around. The story of the birth of Jesus included Mary and Joseph, the makeshift bed despite there being room in the inn. If we could imagine his birth today, we may find Jesus being born in the hallway of the local hospital because there are not enough rooms to go around. This young couple might be mistaken for kids in the hall and medical staff nearby. Shepherds might be replaced with visitors or family members gazing as onlookers of the newborn, Jesus.
As we find our way and take in the crisp air, let us look to the virgin birth for signs of hope, joy and peace this holiday season. With light and love, Pastor Hoover
